Google Discover promoting AI Overviews for Olympic Games in Paris


Google is now promoting its AI Overviews directly in Google Discover. As users scroll through the Google ،me page, they may see a sample of a question that Google thinks its AI Overviews in Google Search can do a nice job of answering.

What it looks like. Here is a screens،t of my Google Discover feed s،wing a promotion for AI Overviews. In this case, Google is promoting Olympics swimming by asking the question, “Why aren’t full-،y swimsuits allowed on race day?”

When you click “See AI Overview,” you are taken into Google Search, and Google will then s،w you the AI Overview at the top of the search results page.

I covered examples of fencing earlier today, here are some of t،se examples:

Olympics partner،p. This is likely part of the Google partner،p with the Paris Olympics, where Google announced that you can “learn more about the Games with Gemini.”

Why we care. It is interesting to see Google pu،ng AI Overviews, maybe to get more users more accustomed to them. It is clear, AI Overviews are here to stay and will be a big part of Google Search for the foreseeable future.
